Chandrakala

Try our chandrakalas, made using wholewheat, raw sugar and stuffed with fresh coconut, jagger and poppy seeds! They are fried in rice bran oil and are simply irresistible. You can’t eat only one!

Ingredients: wholewheat, coconut, jaggery, poppy seeds, rice bran oil and raw sugar.

Background: Chandrakala is a dessert from Bihar, similar to gujia. The outer covering is made of flour and the stuffing is traditionally made using dry fruits like raisins, coconut, almonds, and cashews, along with khoa, semolina, cardamom, sugar, and pistachio. Chandrakala gets the name from the shape.

Care/Storage: Store in cool and dry place. Keep away from direct sun light. 

If consumed on the same day, store in a cool place.  If consumed later, ensure the storing container is airtight.
