Mathri is a type of flaky food item originally from the North West region of India. Mathri was invented as a snack that would stay edible for days, and that which could be taken on journeys. Mathri used to be stored for months in large glass jars, called martabans. It is one of the most popular snacks which are served on marriages and even on religious occasions like Karva Chauth and even as tea-time snack. Our Mathri is best enjoyed with a cup of vegan tea and some lemon pickle.
